Tasty Meal by Accident!
I looked in my cupboard/freezer and found the following ingredients.
brown rice
frozen peas
frozen mixture of onions, celery, and green pepper
olive oil
butter
water
Kalamata olives (pitted)
Paisley Farms Five Bean Salad
I heated a tablespoon of olive oil and a tablespoon of butter in a pan/skillet.
When it began to sizzle, I added:
1 cup of the frozen peas and 1 cup of the onion, celery and green pepper mix
Then I added 1 cup of brown rice and sautéed the mixture together until the rice was thoroughly covered with the oil and butter.
Add 2 cups of water
Bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer.
Cook for about 25-30 minutes until the rice is soft.
Now the surprise!
I thought the mixture might need a little spicing up, so I looked in the refrigerator.
I added (you could adjust to taste)
1/2 cup Kalamata olives
1/2 cup Paisley Farms Five Bean Salad.
The rice, olive, and bean salad turned out quite tasty.
